CODEBIT in the Congress of the State of Veracruz

Xalapa, Veracruz, May 13, 2022.- Actions to promote tourism, improve solid waste collection and its intervention to manage state support were part of the requests presented by members of the Los Tuxtlas AC Biosphere Development Council to deputies of the Drinking Water and Sanitation commissions; Communications; Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, and Tourism.


The meeting was attended by deputies Paul Martínez Marie, president of the Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change; Marco Antonio Martínez Amador and José Magdaleno Rosales Torres, president and member, respectively, of the Permanent Committee on Communications, and Rafael Fararoni Magaña, secretary of the Committee on Tourism.

On June 28, 2022, the Biosphere Development Council of Los Tuxtlas AC, visited the Congress of the State of Jalisco, delivering to Deputy Claudia García Hernández, President of the Planning, Territorial Planning and Water Management Commission, the National Desalination Plant Network Project for analysis and evaluation. Projected in all coastal states of the country, starting in the State of Veracruz.

The project is divided into 4 regions, Gulf of Mexico, Campeche Sound and Caribbean, North Pacific and South Pacific. Jalisco is integrated into the North Pacific region.

 

Juan Levit, member of the team of Deputy Claudia García Hernández, commented that the project will soon be submitted to the technical commission, to verify the technical viability of the project, in order to determine what water distribution infrastructure needs to be included in the plant project to consider the total costs and benefits.
