• The prototype of the Solar Sphere project, generated by the CODEBIT sustainable projects management, through Arq Itzamna Jurkosky, proposes a sphere created with 70,000m2 of solar panels. In addition, several alternatives are analyzed to use the large interior space in a sustainable way. The solar sphere seeks to complete the production of electrical energy that, given the growing demand, the existing network is insufficient.

The project occupies 3 hectares for the sphere and complementary infrastructure.

It is the 40,000 m2 Island of solar panels that can be towed to any city, supplying energy through batteries or wiring to an electrical substation near the coast. 

This prototype was presented in 2019 to state and federal authorities but did not advance because it did not match the government's criteria on energy supplies to the population. This prototype aroused the interest of investors and solar panel manufacturers and it is planned to reactivate in 2025.
